How to Maintain the Salon-Finish Look at Home

The salons have now been open for a few weeks, and we couldn't be any more excited. Pretty sure our hair couldn't take one more disastrous haircut or colour change; I know most of us have attempted something wacky over the last 12 months and now regret it.

Now that our hairdressers have blessed us and our hair with their magical styling hands, we have to figure out how to make that fresh-from-the-salon look last at home.

Always Ask Questions

Don't be shy, and always make sure to leave the salon chair with some more hair knowledge. Ask your hairdresser questions related to your hair type and the aftercare specific cut or style you had done.

Use a hair treatment once a week

We believe that behind a good blow-out, there's always a healthy head of hair. One way to prolong the salon-finish look is to invest in a nourishing, intensive hair mask. The product that has revolutionized our hair care routine is the Give Me Argan Oil & Coconut Oil Hair Mask. This creamy blend of natural ingredients moisturises, conditions, and smoothes your locks in only 10 minutes.

Apply the mask on freshly washed hair using the Argan Oil & Coconut Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. Hairdresser Sian K recommends shampooing your hair twice. "My first shampoo is going to lift any dirt, and my second shampoo is going to rinse all the dirt out."

Silk and satin pillowcases are your hair best friends

Silk and satin pillowcases are quickly becoming the must-have products to take extra care of your skin and hair. The lavish practice of sleeping on silk bedding has been trendy amongst women with curly and textured hair to ensure their protective styles lasted longer.

Silk has proven to be a material that provides incredible beauty benefits. Many women have noticed fewer fine lines and wrinkles, less frizz, split ends, and more hydrated tresses.

Limit the use of heat

It's no secret that heat damage is one of the biggest reasons for hair damage. The best advice is to give your hair a break from heated hairstyles. Why not opt for cute french braids or a messy bun as an alternative.

However, if you can't stay away from using heat, make sure to invest in high-quality styling tools and a good heat protectant spray.

Always be gentle to your hair

Be mindful of how you treat your hair on a day-to-day basis.

  • Avoid washing your hair every day as it strips it of its natural oils.
  • Don't be too rough when towel drying is a big no. If you can switch the harsh cotton towel for a microfiber towel or a cotton t-shirt.
  • Use the right brush or comb and be gentle when detangling your locks.

Our tip is to remember how your hairdresser treats your hair at the salon & don't do anything they wouldn't do.
